About Laura Luz, M.A., F.R.M.

Laura Luz has lived in four different provinces across Canada
and spent time going to school and traveling in various parts
of the US. She settled in Victoria B.C. a number of years ago.
Laura embraced a career assisting families who struggled within
the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) system
and the issues that surround them. During those years, Laura sat
on various community boards and served in assorted capacities,
such as Educator, Spokesperson, Writer and Informal support person
for other child and youth practitioners within her field. Her
closing 7 years within the MCFD system included extensive experience
with behaviorally challenged youth as well as young-offenders
within the youth Justice system.
Laura completed a Masters Degree in Organizational
Leadership and Training and enjoys doing workplace training and mediation within various organizations. Her strength is in assessing workplace dynamics and then providing individual skill development through coaching and training in order shift the work system into a more efficient level
of performance.
Laura is certified in such programs as
Conflict analysis and management, Family mediation, Child protection mediation and Legal advocasy. Her
career specializes in assisting families and/or Organizations
in order to help them create a more healthy day-to-day reality.
Laura is certified with Family Mediation Canada as a
Family Relations Mediator (FRM) and additionally she certified
at Seneca College in Child Protection Mediation. Conflict Resolution
is where Laura has dedicated her life and talents, connecting
to, understanding and educating people.
Laura says, “My years of working within the communities of Victoria have taught me about caring, acceptance and compassion, as well as creative problem solving. I am now able to give individuals the tools to communicate differently, thus creating ripples of effective change within their home or work environments. I find the work challenging, yet inspiring. Individuals of all ages have the potential to grasp these skills, and once put into place, positive changes inevitably follow.”
